Ålander Kari

Kari Ålander has a long career in Management and Consulting, starting in Advertinsing business in the late eighties. As a Senior Consultant he has been leading successful processes with all the major forestry industry companies in Finland (Stora, UPM, Metsäliitto, Forest Ministry of Finland, various private companies), telecommunications industry (Nokia, Sonera, YIT), media industry (various radio stations, various newspapers), various organizations on the public sector (eg cities of Jyväskylä, Kuusamo, Keuruu, Suolahti, regional development companies, regional travel companies, Hengitysliitto Heli, several Polytechnics and Universities), construction industry (YIT, PPTH), automobile and truck distribution (Sisu & Renault trucks, Suzuki cars) and power network operators (Kymppivoima, Suur-Savon Sähkö, Jyväskylän Energia). His focus areas are developing strategies, organizations and processes, management team working structures and processes, developing and refining processes in international matrix organizations, HR processes and Marketing & Communications.

Kari Ålander has worked as a CEO in an Advertising Agency, a Senior Consultant in his own company and as a Senior Vice President, HR and Communications and later also Marketing in Metsäliitto Group, the 5th largest company in Finland and 10th largest forestry industry company in the world. Kari Ålander has also lectured on Marketing and Organizational Development in several Universities and Polytechnical Schools in Finland. He has authored two books: A short introduction in Direct Marketing and CRM & DM, tools for understanding and managing customer relations.

Kari Ålander graduated from the Turku School of Economics, with majors in International Marketing and Economical Geography.
